The Department of Oceanography at the National Sun Yat-sen University (http://ocean.nsysu.edu.tw//bin/home.php?Lang=en) is looking to fill two to three tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of physical oceanography, marine biology, marine chemistry, marine geology, and other related oceanographic disciplines. The university owns and operates a 250-ton research vessel (http://or3.nsysu.edu.tw/files/11-1165-83.php?Lang=en) to support oceanographic research and teaching.
The appointment will start on February 1, 2019. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree in disciplines mentioned above, demonstrate his/her capability to conduct research, and preference will be given to applicants with extensive experience in sea-going field work. The rank at the time of appointment will commensurate with experience and accomplishment. This position carries a 12-month salary plus a 1.5-month bonus at the Chinese New Year. The successful candidate is expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate (master and doctorate levels) courses and to establish his/her own research through external funding.
